San Diego – The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will be taking fans to see the Chargers take on the Denver Broncos on Monday night Oct. 19, and getting commuters home from work and school. MTS wants fans to board the Trolley before 4 p.m. to arrive at the game on time for the 5:30 p.m. kickoff.
Fans who do not board at least 90 minutes before the game may encounter delays. All MTS Trolleys will be in use to assist taking passengers to the game and home from work and school.
Starting at 2:30 p.m., MTS will offer enhanced service on the Green Line including increased frequency between Old Town and Qualcomm Stadium and between Grantville and the stadium. After the game, MTS will operate extra Green Line service in both directions as needed. The Blue and Orange Lines will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
Passengers heading to Qualcomm can use the Green Line park & ride lots, which include Old Town, Morena, Hazard Center (lower level only), Grantville, Grossmont Center, Amaya Dr. (La Mesa), El Cajon Transit Center, Gillespie Field, and
Santee Town Center. Passengers heading to Qualcomm can also transfer to the Green Line at Old Town (from the Blue Line) or at Grossmont Center (from the Orange Line).
Customers are encouraged to buy $5 day passes before boarding the Trolley on their way to their event in order to save time and avoid ticket lines. Tickets may be purchased at all Trolley station ticket vending machines, The Transit Store or ticket booths. An MTS day pass is good on the Trolley and most MTS bus routes.
For further information on special event services or to purchase tickets visit www.sdmts.com or contact 511.
