San Diego, CA –Kassab Family Markets are the new, convenient locations for City Heights residents to purchase and reload their Bus and Trolley passes on Compass Cards.

The three Kassab Family Markets in City Heights are:

• Super Mercado Murphy’s is in the heart of City Heights on University Avenue at 46th Street in the Teralta East neighborhood. It is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Murphy’s Market, on Fairmount Avenue at Dwight Street in the Fairmount Village neighborhood. It is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• The City Heights Chevron Plaza (on University Avenue at State Route 15). It is open 24 hours a day and passes are sold from 4:30 am to 2:30 am.

Kassab Family Markets have been serving the City Heights community for more than 30 years, and we know our customers who live in City Heights will welcome the convenience they offer,” said Paul Jablonski, chief executive officer of MTS. “The hours of operation will allow people to purchase their passes almost at any time of day or night.”

These markets are within walking distance for many of the more than 75,000 San Diegans who live in the 16 different neighborhoods that make up the City Heights community, which falls within El Cajon Boulevard on the north, the Martin Luther King Freeway (State Route 94) on the south, Interstate 805 and SR 15 on the west, and 54th Street on the east.

“We take great pride in the City Heights community,” says Mark Kassab, owner of the Kassab Family Markets. “The majority of our employees are City Heights residents and together we are looking forward to helping our neighbors purchase their Compass Cards and bus and trolley passes at our stores.”

The City Heights community is served by MTS Bus Routes 1, 7, 10, 13, 15, 210, 955, 960, and 965. In June, City Heights will get the brand new “Rapid” Bus Route 235 which will provide frequent service all day long between the transit plazas (at El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue) and Escondido and Downtown San Diego.
