MTS Offers Enhanced Service & Commemorative Passes for Comic Con

Rumors of Gaslamp Trolley Station vortex – the Trolley is the only safe place!

San Diego, CA –No need to mess with downtown traffic and parking, the Metropolitan Transit System is every Comic Con attendees’ superhero coming to the rescue! MTS will offer frequent special event Red Line service from Qualcomm Stadium to the Convention Center to alleviate travel woes. Commemorative 4-day passes are available for just $15 to get convention goers to Comic Con worry-free.

Riders stopping at the Gaslamp Trolley might get more than they bargained for. Rumors of a Comic Vortex settling in over the station and expanding over Downtown San Diego have been substantiated. Station goers and passers-by should not linger, or they risk becoming part of a 2-dimensional comic.

MTS says the Trolley is safe from the Comic Vortex. Riders should pick up their  4-day commemorative pass good for July 21-24 on sale now at The Transit Store and beginning on July 20 at select station ticket kiosks for $15 while supplies last. MTS also sells 1-day passes for $5, 2-day passes for $9, and 3-day passes for $12.

Comic-Con attendees staying in North San Diego County locations such as Oceanside and Carlsbad should consider the Region Plus 4-day passes, which give riders access to the COASTER train and Trolley for $50. The Region Plus 4-day passes are on sale now at Transit Centers in Oceanside, Vista and Escondido. With the four-day commemorative pass, riders save over buying a day pass every day.

Plenty of free parking is available at Qualcomm Stadium throughout the event, with the exception of Wednesday’s Preview night.

Due to an event at Qualcomm Stadium on Wednesday, July 20, the stadium will be charging for parking. Comic Con Preview Night goers should use, the lower  level at Hazard Center, Morena/Linda Vista, Old Town Transit Center  or other MTS park and rides listed at www.sdmts.com.

From Thursday through Sunday, the Special Event ‘Red Line’ will run from Qualcomm Stadium to the Convention Center.  Trains will operate every 15 minutes throughout the event, except during the evening commute on weekdays.  Special late-night Red Line service via the Green Line to the stadium, SDSU, and continuing all the way to Santee will be operated Thursday through Saturday nights.
