MTS to Operate Blue Line from San Ysidro to Qualcomm for Mexico National Soccer Game on March 29

Extra Green Line Service Also Helps Lady Gaga Concert-goers

Enhanced Trolley service from San Ysidro to Qualcomm Stadium on the Blue Line will provide fans going to see Mexico take on Venezuela on Tuesday, March 29, direct service to the Mexico National Soccer game without transferring at Old Town. The game starts at 8 p.m. and spectators can avoid traffic and parking hassles by taking the Trolley.

Blue Line trains bound for Qualcomm Stadium will depart the San Ysidro Transit Center every 15 minutes beginning at 4:37 p.m. until 6:22 p.m. Regular Blue Line trains will continue to operate to Old Town throughout the day, where passengers can transfer to the Green Line, which will operate every 15minutes from Old Town.

After the game, starting at 10 p.m., Blue Line trains heading south toward San Ysidro will depart the stadium every 15 minutes. The final departure for service south of downtown will be at 11:15 p.m. There will also be Green Line service operating in both directions following the game. Late night service to National City and Chula Vista is also available by bus. Route 929 departs the 12th & Imperial Transit Center every 30 minutes until 12:45 a.m., with one additional trip at 1:55 a.m. This bus goes as far as the Iris Avenue Trolley station.

Concert-goers to the Lady Gaga show at Viejas Arena at San Diego State University on March 29 will also benefit from Green Line 15-minute service. With the concert scheduled to end at 11 p.m., two additional eastbound trips are scheduled with last train scheduled to depart SDSU at 11:37. The last westbound train is scheduled to leave at 12:32.
