FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HIGH CAPACITY EXPECTED ON TROLLEYS FOR CHARGERS FINAL WEEKNIGHT GAME OF 2008 SEASON

Riders encouraged to arrive two hours early and purchase day passes

San Diego, CA – The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will provide enhanced service to Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday for the Chargers game against the Raiders, and fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid the normal rush hour crowds on the trolley.

Beginning at 1:23 p.m. on the Green Line from Old Town to Santee, the Trolley will operate at greater frequencies to Qualcomm Stadium.

It is strongly suggested that fans begin their Trolley trips at least two hours or more before kickoff. Fans boarding Trolleys after 4 p.m. should expect heavy crowds and the possibility that many trains will arrive at stations fully loaded and will not be able to accommodate additional riders at times.

After the game, enhanced trolley service will continue as needed.

Riders using the free park & ride lots should arrive early, as parking at popular Trolley stations will fill quickly, due to morning commuters already using the lots. Green Line park & ride lots include Old Town, Morena, Grantville, Grossmont Center, Amaya Drive (La Mesa), El Cajon Transit Center, Gillespie Field, and Santee Town Center.

Passengers heading to Qualcomm can also transfer to the Green Line at Old Town (from the Blue Line) or Grossmont Center (from the Orange Line).

To save time and avoid ticket lines after the game, customers are encouraged to buy day passes before boarding the trolley on their way to the stadium. Day Passes cost $5 for unlimited rides on MTS buses and the Trolley. Tickets may be purchased at each Trolley station ticket vending machine, on buses or at the Transit Store.

Chargers Express Bus will not operate for this Thursday night game because all MTS buses are needed for to transport commuters. The Chargers will provide bus service through SEAT Planners Incorporated; more information is available at www.chargers.com. Chargers Express Bus service by MTS and the North County Transit District will resume for the Dec. 28 game.

For further information on special event services or to purchase tickets visit www.sdmts.com or contact 5-1-1.
