San Diego, CA – The Metropolitan Transit System is planning to “blitz” Qualcomm Stadium with enhanced Green and Blue Line trolley service for the fourth annual Poinsettia Bowl Game set to kick-off at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 23rd.

Fans going to see undefeated Boise State University Broncos play the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs are encouraged to take the Trolley and arrive at the Stadium early for pre-game activities and avoid congestion and crowded trolleys.

At 12:30 p.m. extra Blue and Green Line Trolleys will begin departing Downtown Trolley Stations with direct service to Qualcomm Stadium from Downtown.

By 1:00 p.m. Blue and Green Line Trolleys will be arriving at Qualcomm Stadium about every 8 minutes. The Trolley’s Qualcomm Stadium Station is just steps away from the Gate K entrance.

Following the game, Blue and Green Line trains will provide continuous departures until crowds have cleared. Signs and Customer Service Representatives will help direct fans to the correct departure platform.

Unlimited travel for a day on the Trolley (and most MTS buses) is just $5 The one-way Trolley Fare to Qualcomm is $2.50 ($1.25 for riders who are Seniors (60+), Disabled, and Medicare and have proper ID). One-day passes can be purchased at any Trolley Station ticket machine, onboard any MTS Bus, at ticket booths at select Trolley Stations, and at The Transit Store at First Avenue and Broadway in downtown San Diego. Multi-day Day Passes of two, three, or four-days are also available at Trolley Station Ticket Machines and at The Transit Store.

Bowl Game Travel Tips:
• Avoid rush hour congestion, travel early, and allow plenty of time to get to the stadium to enjoy the pre-game festivities.
• Enjoy post-game presentations and avoid the crowds leaving the stadium immediately after the game.
• Purchase a Day Pass before boarding to expedite your post-game trip.
• Fans staying in downtown or Mission Valley hotels are encouraged to walk to the closest Trolley Station;
• Fans who want to drive to a Trolley Station to park and ride, can go to the Old Town, Morena/Linda Vista, Grantville, Grossmont Center, Amaya Dr. (La Mesa), El Cajon Transit Center, Gillespie Field, and Santee Town Center.
