• Free Night Owl service will continue on the San Diego Trolley’s Blue, Orange, and Green Lines and on MTS Bus Routes 7, 11, and 901until dawn.
“MTS thanks Sycuan for sponsoring New Year’s Eve Free Rides, to make travel safer for everyone in the community,” MTS CEO Paul Jablonski said. “Riding transit, just one day a week, is a great way to begin the New Year and is one of the most effective ways people can reduce their carbon footprint. San Diegan’s can start off 2009 with the New Year’s Day Friends Ride Free fares.”
On January 1, 2009, MTS Bus and Trolley service will operate a Sunday schedule along with the Friends Ride Free program which makes it possible for each passenger who pays a fare on January 1st with either pass or cash to bring a “friend” along for the entire ride for free.
