Park and Ride... MTS Offers a Great Summer Promotion

The San Diego Natural History Museum exhibition of Dead Sea Scrolls opens June 29.  Thanks to the generosity of the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Department of Antiquities of Jordan, 27 Dead Sea Scrolls will be on display over the course of the exhibition ending December 31, 200. MTS can get you there worry free!

MTS Bus Routes 7, 7A and 7B provide direct access to the heart of the park along Park Boulevard from downtown to the west and La Mesa from the east along University Avenue.  These routes connect with Blue Line and Orange Line trolleys at the brand new City College Station, just minutes from BalboaPark.

Route 120 also provides great access to the west side of the park from downtown and Kearney Mesa and connects to the Green Line Trolley at FashionValley.

To highlight the MTS partnership with Balboa Park, Balboa Park coupon books, valued at more than $100 will be available to riders aboard these buses and at the Transit Store beginning June 29.  The coupons offer two-for-one entrances, admission discounts and merchandise discounts at museums, gift stores and the San Diego Zoo.

Summer visitors to Balboa Park can enjoy other special exhibitions such as Journey to the Copper Age at the San Diego Museum of Man; The Contemporary Scroll Visual Exploration Exhibition at the San Diego Art Institute: Museum of the Living Artist; Waking Dreams: The Art of the Pre-Raphaelites from the Delaware Museum of Art at The San Diego Museum of Art and Contemporary Israeli Photography by Didier Ben Loulou at the Museum of Photographic Arts. In addition, there’s the annual summer Shakespeare Festival at the Old Globe and weekly concerts at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion.
