Sixth Annual Holiday Entertainment Series and Kickoff Event for Trolley Riders

Mini-Concerts at select Orange Line Trolley Stations this December

San Diego, CA –The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), San Diego City Councilmember and MTS Board Member Tony Young, Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation and Coca-Cola have joined together to kick off the sixth annual Trolley Holiday Entertainment Series.

On December 12, the series kicks off with an evening of free entertainment from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Market Creek Plaza Amphitheater. Families are encouraged to attend the event and enjoy an evening of holiday tunes performed by choirs, pianists and vocalists.

On December 13, the Trolley Holiday Entertainment Series will return to the Orange Line, where the first performance starts at the Euclid Avenue Trolley Station and includes performers from the southeastern San Diego area. The holiday entertainment schedule alternates between morning and afternoon performances at the Euclid Avenue and 62nd Street Trolley Stations. Riders can catch a performance at these stations weekdays through December 21.

“This popular annual event brings holiday joy and a festive atmosphere to commuters in southeastern San Diego neighborhoods,” said Councilmember Tony Young.  “I applaud MTS for brightening the lives of local residents by generously sharing in this holiday spirit.”

The funding from Councilman Young was made possible through the City of San Diego’s Commission for Arts and Culture.

“The music is a holiday treat for riders and will make their morning or afternoon commute that much more enjoyable,” said MTS CEO PaulJablonski.
