Take MTS to Fiesta del Sol

The 4th Annual Fiesta del Sol is August 8-9. The celebration is a free two-day street festival celebrating the history, diverse cultures, andengagement of the people of San Diego. It is a fun, family friendly, alcohol- and tobacco-free event focused oncreating positive change by empowering the community.

Events at Fiesta del Sol include:
• Community in Action Zone - register for the Reform Immigration for America campaign, Learn about important advocacy issues at the local, state and national level
• Two entertainment stages featuring local and internationally-known artists
• Arts and Culture Pavilion - including inter-active community mural and story-book building
• Children’s Village - with hands-on games, crafts and face painting
• Youth Action Board Teen and Education Zone - created for and by youth with music, dance and promoting higher education opportunities in San Diego
• Healthy Living Circle - with health screenings and resources for the entire family
• Monster Energy BMX Demo Team - professional BMXers and skaters will tear up the half-pipe and street park all weekend long
• Good Jobs/Green Jobs Fair - Saturday, August 8th only there will be job screenings and information on healthy and sustainable careers for the community to tap into
• Padres All Star scheduled to attend - Up-and-coming Padres All Star, Heath Bell is scheduled to sign autographs on Saturday, August 8th from 12 noon - 2 p.m.
• Small Business Fair - Sunday, August 9th only - there will be workshops on how to start and maintain your own small business
• Great VOLUNTEER opportunities - make new friends while developing leadership skills in a fun environment
