The San Diego Latino Film Festival kicks off its sixteenth year on March 12 through the 22 at Hazard Center. As one of the larger and well-respected Latino film festivals in the country, it is a unique privilege to not only see some of the best Latino films, but celebrate Latino visual artists and music.
Over 178,000 people have attended the Latino Film Festival in the past 15 years and 2,100 films/videos from across Latin America and the United States have been screened.
In addition to the annual Sonido Latino! Latin Music Concert Series and Arte Latino! Art Exhibit, the upcoming 2009 festival will once again host exciting Tu Cine! Student Outreach Screenings for local middle and high schools students, educational workshops for independent film/video makers, and will put together a wonderful collection of feature films for families and their teen-aged kids.
