San Diego Metropolitan Transit Sytem (MTS) and Balboa Park, with support from San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), have launched their second annual Coupon Book. The Book offers up to $90 in savings and is available on Route 7 buses that serve Balboa Park. The Book explains how Park organizations are lowering energy costs through innovative programs with SDG&E, provides tips to riders on how they can reduce their home energy costs, and includes rebate coupons for energy-saving and water-saving improvements from SDG&E and the San Diego County Water Authority.
More than 20,000 discount booklets will be available (while supplies last) aboard Route 7 buses. Route 7 operates to Balboa Park every 12 minutes. Trolley riders can make an easy connection to Route 7 by transferring at the City College station. Route 7 also serves the Park from La Mesa and all points in between via University Avenue. Coupon books are also available at The Transit Store in Downtown San Diego.

The coupon book is one of several components of this year's "Keep Balboa Park Green" campaign. In May, the Natural History Museum and the Reuben H. Fleet Museum had more than 200 school children paint "green messages" on a Route 7 bus.
And in June, MTS and Balboa Park unveiled a "Green" Trolley to promote the Park's exciting summer programs and to communicate the importance of thinking and acting environmentally. |
