Extra Trolley Service Scheduled for Monster Jam at Petco Park

All three Trolley Lines serve the doorstep to all the action

San Diego – Petco Park is moving up from the two wheelers to the big wheelers. Only a week after Supercross dirt bikes were canvassing Petco Park, Monster Trucks will be flying high over the infield on Saturday night. The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is scheduling extra trains to accommodate tens of thousands of fans expected to attend.

Additionally, MTS’s mobile ticketing app, mTicket, is active for the event, allowing attendees to purchase Trolley tickets on their smartphones and bypass the ticket vending machine.

The show begins at 7 p.m. and concludes around 9:30 p.m. All three Trolley lines drop off fans steps away from Petco Park at the 12th & Imperial Transit Center. The following Trolley schedule will apply on Saturday:

Green Line (from Santee to 12th & Imperial) – Trains depart all stations every 15 minutes all day. Beginning at 5:38 p.m. trains will run every 7 ½ minutes from Qualcomm Stadium to Petco Park. Last train leaving downtown San Diego will depart at 11:36 p.m.

UC San Diego Blue Line (from San Ysidro to 12th & Imperial) – Before and after the event, trains depart all stations every 15 minutes. Last train leaving downtown San Diego will depart at midnight.

Orange Line (from El Cajon to 12th & Imperial) – Before and after the event, trains depart every 15 minutes. Last train leaving downtown San Diego will depart at 12:03 a.m.

Fans are encouraged to take the Trolley to Petco Park for the festivities due to limited parking available near the stadium and security screening measures at Petco Park.

The best locations to park and ride the Trolley to Petco Park are:

  • Qualcomm Stadium: 5,000 free parking spots (Green Line, 30 minutes to Petco Park)
  • Old Town Transit Center: 412 free parking spots (Green Line, 15 minutes to Petco Park)
  • Palm Avenue Station: 499 free parking spots (Blue Line, 23 minutes to Petco Park)
