MTS Expanding Service for Saturday’s Taylor Swift Concert at PETCO Park

San Diego – Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Taylor Swift brings her "1989 World Tour" to San Diego's PETCO Park on Saturday, August 29 in front of a sold-out concert crowd.  The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is offering mobile ticketing and scheduling extra trains to accommodate the large crowds.

To avoid Trolley ticket lines and speed up the boarding process, concert-goers can purchase and store Trolley passes on their smart phones at any time prior to arriving at transit stations by using mTicket, MTS’s free mobile ticketing app. Multiple mTickets can be purchased on one smart phone too, making it easy for friends traveling to the concert together. To download the app, visit the mTicket webpage. Fans can also find the app by search for “mTicket” in the App Store or on Google Play.

All three Trolley lines provide direct service steps away from PETCO Park. MTS is also recommending concert-goers travel early, as there will be limited parking available at park-and-ride locations due to the 5 p.m. San Diego Chargers vs. Seattle Seahawks game at Qualcomm Stadium.

The concert is anticipated to conclude at 11:15 p.m. The last trains on the Blue and Orange Lines will depart 1 hour after the end of the concert. The Green Line will offer additional late-night service to accommodate SDSU students. Additionally, the following service schedule will apply:

Green Line

  • From about 4:30-7 p.m., trains will increase to a 7.5-minute service schedule from Qualcomm Stadium to downtown San Diego
  • During and after the concert, Green Line trains will depart the 12th & Imperial Transit Center and Gaslamp Quarter station every 15 minutes to Santee.  Immediately following the concert, additional trains as-needed will operate from the Gaslamp Quarter Station as far as San Diego State University.
  • The last Green Line train will depart 12th & Imperial Transit Center at 12:51 a.m.

Blue Line

  • Trains will depart all stations every 15 minutes before and after the concert
  • The last Blue Line train will depart from the 12th & Imperial Transit Center at 12:15 a.m.

Orange Line

  • Trains will depart all stations every 15 minutes before and after the concert
  • The last Orange Line train will depart from the 12th & Imperial Transit Center at 12:18 a.m.
