Orange Line Trolley Service Disrupted for Monday Evening Commute

San Diego  – An SDG&E-related gas leak has forced the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) to curtail Orange Line Trolley service between the 25th & Commercial Station and 47th Street Station for Monday evening’s commute. MTS has a bus bridge is in effect to manage service between the two Trolley stations. The disruption is anticipated to last until at least 9 p.m.  If taking the bus bridge, plan on an extra half-hour travel time.

MTS is bridging service with eight buses between the two Orange Line Trolley stations. At the 25th & Commercial Station, passengers can also walk to stops for Routes 3 and 4 as alternatives depending on their destination.  If passengers destined for downtown are near the Grossmont and El Cajon Trolley stations, or if they are downtown and want to travel to destinations east of Grossmont, MTS recommends transferring to the Green Line.

Follow the MTS Twitter handle for any additional updates @sdmts, or call MTS Information and Trip Planning 619-233-3004.

MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked railway. Every weekday more than 300,000 passenger trips are taken on MTS bus and Trolley services. MTS set a new record this fiscal year with 96.7 million riders. For more information on how you can use public transportation and save money, go to www.sdmts.com.
