located store has everything you need for Metropolitan Transit
System Bus and Trolley riding, including:

The Transit Store is located at 102 Broadway (corner of First
Avenue), in Downtown San Diego. Phone number is (619) 234-1060.
The Transit Store accepts cash, checks, Traveler Checks, Commuter Check Voucher and the following credit cards:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- American Express
- Discover
A valid picture identification card is required for purchases made with a check or credit card.
The Transit Store open weekdays
between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. It
is closed on weekends and holidays. Transit I.D. Cards (see
requirements below) will be issued from 9:00 a.m. until
4:30 p.m. The cost for a new ID is $6.00, a replacement ID
costs $4.00.
Customers wishing
to purchase fare media on weekends in the downtown area can
do so at several locations, such as: the Check Cashing Place,
5th & Broadway; Ralphs Supermarket, 1st & G; Longs
Drugs, Horton Plaza. Fare media can also be purchased online
on our web site through our eStore
and continues to be available through the mail.
- Valid picture ID (Examples: Drivers License, Passport,
Out of State ID, Military ID).
- One of the following: An original letter on letterhead paper or prescription
form from a certified/licensed doctor or California agency
stating the following: Your name, the current date and the
statement that you are "Permanently Disabled"
or that you are "disabled for Six months"; or
a Medicare Card; or a State of California Placard ID (the
white placard receipt from the California
DMV); or an active I.E. P. from a school for disabled students; or a current year S.S.I., S.S.A., or S.S.D.I award letter; or a letter from the Epilepsy Foundation; or a letter from the San Diego Center for the Blind; or a letter from the San Diego Regional Center; or a Veterans Administration Card with picture (must say "service connected" on card). If you have a question as to whether your information is acceptable as verification of disability, please call us.
Important Note: Documents
that have been altered or copied are not acceptable.
