Public Hearing for Proposed MTS Service Adjustments (en español)
Due to lower sales tax revenue, increases in fuel costs, and reduced subsidies from the State, MTS projects an
operating deficit of more than $6 million in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008. To balance the budget, MTS
proposes to reduce staff, restructure trolley fares, enhance non-fare revenue and adjust bus services.
Many of the service adjustments require the consideration and approval of the MTS Board of Directors after a
public hearing on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 9 a.m. For more information about the proposals and how to comment on them, please see the Take One.
