Comic-Con is returning to San Diego in July! This event has grown in scope and prominence through the years with over 100,000 individual attendees, professionals, and exhibitors in 2008. San Diego Trolley will take you to one of two stations located just steps away from the Convention Center. On the Trolley's Orange Line, go to either the Convention Center or Gaslamp Quarter stations. But the Orange Line is only one way to get there -- plan a trip to find the best route for you.

Remember to purchase your Day Pass before boarding.  This will help you avoid lines at the Ticket Booth and Ticket Vending machines on your return trip. A Day Pass allows unlimited travel on MTS all day.   For those attending more than one day, MTS Day Passes are available in denominations from 1 to 4 days.  A multi-day pass is your most economical way to travel to Comic Con 2009! Day Passes can be purchased at station Ticket Vending Machines or at select Trolley stations with ticket booth sales.

Special Event 'Red Line' Service

From July 23-24, San Diego Trolley will offer its Special Event 'Red Line' service between Qualcomm Stadium and the Convention Center area, serving Old Town and Mission Valley stations along the way. The 'Red Line' will depart Qualcomm Stadium every 15 minutes beginning at 8:32 a.m. Due to fleet requirements during the afternoon commute, 'Red Line' service will cease temporarily with the last train departing the stadium at 1:32 p.m. and the last departure from the Convention Center at 2:20 p.m.  After these times passengers should use regular Orange, Blue, and Green Line trains. Special Event 'Red Line' service will resume from the Convention Center at 5:50 p.m. and will continue until midnight on both days.

Expanded Green Line Service

On Saturday and Sunday, July 25 & 26, San Diego Trolley will operate Special Expanded Green Line service to the Convention Center! Beginning at 7:23 a.m. from Santee, all Green Line trains will operate past their normal Old Town terminus, continuing on to the Convention Center area. Green Line trains will operate every 15 minutes between Santee and the Convention Center throughout the day.

Green Line timetable for Saturday & Sunday

Attendees coming in from La Mesa, El Cajon, and Santee will have two choices: take either the Orange Line or the Green Line to the Convention Center. The travel time from these areas is virtually the same either way (approx. 60 minutes from Santee). Expanded Green Line service continues from the Convention Center toward Santee until 1:58 a.m. on Saturday night/Sunday morning, and 6:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Thursday & Friday, July 23-24, 2009:

Special Event 'Red Line' service (see map) between Qualcomm Stadium and the Convention Center area will be operated much of the day.  Due to fleet requirements during the morning and afternoon peak service time frame, 'Red Line' service will be limited to off-peak hours only.  Reference timetable below for detailed information.

Blue Line:

Normal Blue service will be operated. Transfer to the Orange Line at the 12th & Imperial Transit Center.

15-minute service will begin early at 7:52am from Gillespie Field and continue throughout the event. Take the Orange Line to either the Convention Center or Gaslamp Quarter stations.

Green Line:

Special expanded Green Line service will operate to Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday.  As noted below, Green Line trains will continue past their normal Old Town terminus and offer direct service to the San Diego Convention Center.  Reference timetables below for detailed information.
