MTS Reports

The Metropolitan Transit System is aimed at making smart moves in transportation and effectively utilizing every dollar in its budget. Despite the significant challenge of a $21 million funding shortfall in Transportation Development Act and TransNet funding over the past two fiscal years, coupled with a reduction of approximately $21 million in State Transit Assistance due to the latest State of California budget proposal, MTS has balanced the operating budet utilizing recurring operating revenues.

The financial five-year goals of the MTS are to continue the matching of recurring revenues to recurring expenses; control operating expenses as close as possible to inflation; and to continue the shift of recurring revenues that exceed recurring expenses to the Capital Improvement Program.
