Taxicab Advisory Committee

The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Board of Directors established
an Advisory Taxicab Committee in September 1994.

| The Committee’s purpose is to provide feedback on taxicab matters destined for Board action; review summaries of administrative hearing officer decisions concerning taxicab owner and driver penalties; resolve taxicab owner’s written grievances; review summaries of complaints concerning taxicab service; review vehicle inspection criteria, process, results, and rankings; review the annual fee schedule; approve taxicab rates of fare for the City of San Diego and the San Diego International Airport; and comment on MTS’s work program concerning taxicab matters. |

Meetings are held four to six times a year, and are open to
the public. Meeting dates for 2013:
Friday, April 26, 2013 10 a.m.
Friday, June 14, 2013 10 a.m.
Friday, September 20, 2013 10 a.m.
Friday, December 13, 2013 10 a.m. |

All meetings are held at the James R. Mills Building, MTS Board of Directors
meeting room located at 1255 Imperial Avenue, 10th Floor, San Diego, California.

| The Committee has 17 members. One representative of the MTS Board of Directors, appointed annually by the Board, will be designated to serve as Chair of the Taxicab Committee. The San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, San Diego Convention Center, and San Diego Travelers Aid Society, each appoint one representative, and two members are appointed from the hotel-motel industry. The taxicab owners elect seven owners to represent them, and currently there are three lease driver representatives. |
