  • Sunday schedule changes take effect on Sunday, January 27, 2008.
  • Weekday schedule changes take effect on Monday, January 28, 2008.

You may plan your trip for dates on or after January 27, 2008, using Google Transit.  Just type in your starting address or intersection and ending address or intersection, the date of your trip, and the arrival or departure time.  If you should encounter any problems with the Google Transit trip planner, please contact us

Our friendly staff at the 5-1-1 office will also help you plan your new trip.  Just pick up your phone and dial 511. 

Please be sure to pick up a new timetable for the routes with changes, as listed below. The timetables and maps are provided in PDF format. To read these files, you must have a PDF viewer installed on your system. You may use the free PDF viewer Adobe Acrobat Reader. Some timetable PDF files are large files. We recommend that you right-click the link for the timetable and select "Save As..." and save the file to your computer's hard drive before opening the file.

Effective 1/27/08: The last two eastbound and westbound trips between Old Town and SDSU are discontinued, seven days a week. The last eastbound trip to SDSU will now depart Old Town at 12:00 midnight. The last westbound trip to Old Town will now depart SDSU at 12:32am.

2, 9, 27, 120, 864, 923, 928, 929, 933/934, 936, 955 All of these routes have schedule adjustments, mostly to improve on-time performance and/or transfer connections. Please pick up a new timetable for these routes before 1/27/08 to ensure that you have a current schedule.

28 Effective 1/27/08: The southern terminal for all Route 28 trips is changed to Shelter Island Dr. Routes 28B and 28C are discontinued, and service to the Navy Submarine Base and Cabrillo National Monument is replaced with new Route 84 (see below). Routes 28 and 84 will make timed transfers to ensure easy connections. See map inside for transfer location details. Route 28 between Old Town Transit Center and Shelter Island Dr. will continue to operate every 30 minutes along Rosecrans St., but with a revised schedule and increased frequency on weekdays between 6:20am and 8:20am (leaving Old Town every 15 minutes).
30 Effective 1/27/08: Route 30A will begin operating at 7:00pm, replacing all night service on Route 48/49. Service on La Jolla Village Dr. after 7:00pm remains available on Routes 41 and 101.

31 Effective 1/28/08: Route 31 service is reduced to operate during rush hours only; midday service is discontinued. Miramar Rd. remains accessible at Black Mtn Rd. during the midday via Route 20.

41 Effective 1/27/08: The northern terminal of the route is changed from the VA Medical Center to the UCSD campus. Route 41 will continue to serve the VA Medical Center, via Villa La Jolla Dr., and the UCSD central campus. UCSD campus drop-off stops for service into campus are on Gilman Dr. at Russell Dr. and Myers Dr. The pick-up stop for service from campus is on Gilman Dr. at Villa La Jolla Dr. Route 41 service on Gilman Dr. south of Myers Dr. is discontinued, but still available on Routes 30, 48/49, 101, and 150.
48/49 Effective 1/27/08: The northern half of Route 48/49 is changed to operate on La Jolla Village Dr. instead of Voigt Dr. between the VA Medical Center and UTC. MTS service to Scripps and Thornton Hospital (on Campus Point Dr. and Voigt Dr.) is offered on a new
shuttle Route 86. For service to the Executive Dr. and Eastgate Mall area, use Route 31 or 89. Also, weekday frequency is increased to every 15 minutes on Route 48 from 7:00am to noon and on Route 49 from noon to 6:00pm.
84 Effective 1/27/08: Route 84 is a new route replacing the southern segments of Routes 28B and 28C. This route bridges Route 28 at Shelter Island Dr. with the Naval Submarine Base and Cabrillo National Monument. Service is also provided to former local Route 28B and 28C stops along Cañon St., Catalina Blvd., Cabrillo Memorial Dr., and Rosecrans St. Service operates approximately every 60-75 minutes, seven days per week. Cash fare on Route 84 is $2.00.
86 Effective 1/27/08: Route 86 is a new route serving Scripps Memorial Hospital & Thornton Hospital from UTC, via Genesee Ave., Campus Point Dr., and Voigt Dr. Service operates approximately every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 60 minutes on weekends and holidays. Cash fare on Route 86 is $2.00.
89 Effective 1/28/08: The northern terminal of Route 89 is changed to the Sorrento Valley COASTER Station (SVCS). All service north of the SVCS to Carmel Valley is discontinued. Service on the southern portion of the route, between the SVCS and University City, is maintained with a revised schedule. Also, the terminal at the SVCS is changed to the Roselle St. side, south of the river. (Route 89 will no longer serve the stops on Sorrento Valley Rd.) In University City, Route 89 will serve Westfield UTC on La Jolla Village Dr., but will no longer enter the UTC Transit Center.

833 Effective 1/27/08: Route 833 is extended from Parkway Plaza to the El Cajon Transit Center. The new segment of Route 833 between Parkway Plaza and the El Cajon Transit Center will run the same approximate hours and frequency as the current Route 878, which will be discontinued. Also, Increased frequency between Parkway Plaza and Santee Transit Center on weekends and holidays.
878 Effective 1/27/08: Route 878 is replaced by an extension of Route 833 from Parkway Plaza to the El Cajon Transit Center. The new segment of Route 833 between Parkway Plaza and the El Cajon Transit Center will run the same approximate hours and frequency as the current Route 878, which will be discontinued.

Rd.; 964B serves Miramar College and the Mira Mesa Blvd./Westview Pkwy. area every 60 minutes via Black Mtn. Rd. Service to Scripps Ranch Blvd. is discontinued north of Carroll Cyn. Rd.
992 Effective 1/27/08: The downtown terminal of Route 992 is changed to Broadway and 4th Ave. Please use Routes 3 or 120 for service into the Gaslamp Quarter.
