MTS Asks for Public Feedback with COVID-19 Survey

Transit agency collecting feedback on rider and community attitudes about transit during pandemic

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is running a survey to gauge rider and community attitudes toward public transit amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The online survey is available in English and Spanish, and will be open through Monday, June 15.

“COVID-19 has shifted so much of the way our communities operate, including public transportation,” said MTS Board Chair and County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher. “The findings in the survey will help the MTS Board and executive leadership make important decisions on the direction of our transit system moving forward given our current public health reality.”

The survey asks for feedback on safety measures that are most important to riders amidst COVID-19, what new technologies they would most like to see on board and more. To take the survey, visit www.sdmts.com/covidsurvey.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, MTS has increased cleaning protocols on vehicles and at stations, added handwashing units at Trolley stations, implemented rear door boarding, and more to help combat the spread of the disease.

MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines. Frequencies and spans have been modified temporarily due to COVID-19. Trip planning and other important information can be accessed on the MTS website. MTS asks that passengers wear face coverings and practice physical distancing at all times while using the system.
