Gift certificates for groceries will also be donated to the school for families in need
WHAT: As their annual holiday donation, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will donate 50 bicycles to first graders at Kimball Elementary, introducing them to “going green” in transportation. MTS also purchased 25 grocery gift certificates of $50 each to be distributed by the school principal to families who need it most.
The presentation will be part of an assembly on safety with a National City police officer, a MTS K-9 Unit and MTS Chief Executive Officer Paul Jablonski.

WHERE: Kimball Elementary at 302 West 18th Street in National City

WHY: Money for the bikes and helmets and gift certificates was collected by employees and friends of MTS in order to bring holiday cheer to underprivileged first graders at Kimball Elementary.
