On Thursday, April 25, people across the United States will participate in the American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) Get On Board Day. Get On Board Day is an opportunity for us to share the positive impact investing in public transportation has on our communities.
We've created some easy ways for you to show your support next Thursday.
- Pledge to choose transit and Get on Board (duh!) next Thursday! If you're not a regular rider, you can download the Compass Cloud mobile app to get transit passes right to your phone. If you are a regular rider, this is a great time to invite a friend, family member or coworker to join you & give transit a try.
- Visit the Get On Board Day website to add your name to the petition to remind local, state and federal leaders that investing in public transit is important to our communities. You can also learn more about the value of transit, read real rider stories of how transit impacts their life, and even share your own story with APTA.
- Snap a selfie on board next Thursday, April 25, and tell us why public transit matters to you/why you ride. Tag MTS (on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) and use the hashtag #choosetransit in the post for your chance to win some prizes to improve your commute, including:
- $25 Starbucks Gift card - just make sure you keep the lid on when riding ;) (One winner)
- A travel backpack: Complete with roller wheels and a padded laptop compartment, get out the door and on board faster with everything you need to tackle the day. (One winner)
- A Regional 30-Day Pass: Keep riding after Get On Board Day with a free 30-Day Pass (One winner)
- Note: Posts must be posted to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (post or stories) on Thursday, April 25, 2019. Posts must tag the MTS social media page and #choosetransit hashtag, and be public for MTS' viewing to be entered in the drawing.
