The Lunar New Year Festival is the most important celebration of many Asian communities including those of China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Tibet, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, Bhutan, Mongolia, and Japan (before 1873).

It marks the arrival of spring based on the Lunar Calendar and features many customs such as giving thanks, worshiping ancestors, and wishing New Year’s greetings.

San Diego Lunar New Year Festival is a 3-day celebration features dazzling lanterns, folk and traditional performances, arts and cultural exhibitions, lion dances and firecrackers, and plenty of family fun activities for the kids. More importantly, the festival is inclusive and free. Look for:
