When it comes to our personal commuting habits, small changes can make a big difference! The City of San Diego recently launched the #TransitTuesday campaign to encourage San Diegans to commit to an alternative form of transportation once a week, including riding the bus or Trolley. 

Join thousands of San Diegans and participate in the weekly #TransitTuesday campaign. When you choose transit over a personal vehicle for your commute on Tuesday, May 22, you can enter to win a free 30-Day Pass from MTS! To enter the drawing for a 30-Day Compass Card:

  1. Ride the MTS bus or Trolley on May, 22, 2018. 
  2. Take a selfie or photo while onboard, and post the image to Instagram and/or Twitter.
  3. Photos must be posted between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. PST on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 to be eligible for the drawing.
  4. The photos must include the hashtag #TransitTuesday, and tag @sdmts and @CityofSanDiego on Twitter, or @sdmts and @thecityofsandiego on Instagram. 
  5. Posts must be public for inclusion in the drawing.
  6. Participants will receive one entry per social media site (two total possible entries). 
  7. One (1) winner will be selected to receive a 30-Day Regional Pass ($72 value). Winner will be announced on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

Need help planning your #TransitTuesday trip? Here's some helpful tips:

  1. Use the Trip Planner to find the best bus route and/or Trolley line for your commute. 
  2. Consider using a Park & Ride lot from a Trolley station or I-15 Rapid station. 
  3. Download a Day Pass ($5) right to your smart phone using the Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app. You can save time by purchasing your Day Pass in advance, and then activate it right before you get onboard. Day Passes allow for unlimited transfers between most MTS bus routes and Trolley lines, and are valid for one (1) calendar day. (For Rapid 280/290 riders, purchase the $12 RegionPlus Pass.)
  4. Riding the bus? Download the OneBusAway app to get real-time info on your route.
