MTS Memorial Day Modified Service Schedule

 

San Diego – The Metropolitan Transit System will implement schedule changes for Memorial Day, in addition to the modified service already in place due to COVID-19.  Most MTS buses and Trolleys will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, May 25, and passengers should plan accordingly. 

 Scheduling

Service schedule modifications for Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, are as follows:

                Most MTS buses and all Trolleys will operate on a Sunday schedule
                Rapid 201/202, 215, 225 and 235 – Sunday schedule
                Rapid 204 and 237 – No service
                Express Routes 20 and 950 – Sunday schedule
                Rapid Express 280 and 290 – No service
                Sorrento Valley COASTER Connection (Routes 972, 973, 974, 978, 979)– No service
                Express Routes 50, 60, 110 and 150– No Service
                Rural Route 888 – Operates on Tuesday, May 26 instead
                Rural Routes 891, 892 and 894 – No service
                MTS Access – Passengers with subscriptions who want service on this day must call to arrange transportation

Safe-travel guidelines

Passengers aboard any MTS bus or Trolley should continue to follow the social distancing guidelines and safety measures to slow the spread of COVID-19. Other guidelines and requirements while riding include:

Face coverings:

All passengers are required to wear a face-covering while using the transit system.

Rear-door boarding:

Passengers must board from the rear door on buses to increase distance between passengers and the bus operator.

Social distancing:

While sitting, passengers should keep a 6-feet distance between each other and the bus operator when possible.
Posted social distancing messaging on all electronic signage and at Trolley stations are available to inform passengers.

No-Contact Fare Purchase:

Riders are encouraged to get bus or Trolley fares through the Compass Cloud app to minimize contact with machines, or other people. Cash is not accepted on buses, but fares are required to ride.

Support Services

The MTS Information and Trip Planning call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Memorial Day, while the MTS Transit Store, Compass Service Center and Customer Service call center will be closed.

MTS continues to operate about 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines. Frequencies and spans have been modified temporarily due to COVID-19. Updated schedules can be accessed on the MTS website. MTS asks that only essential trips be made on public transit, that people wear face coverings and practice physical distancing at all times.
