San Diego's biggest Fourth of July Fireworks show takes over the San Diego Bay with four barges at different points. There are great viewing areas all along the bay for this annual event! Parking is free at park-and-ride lots throughout the system.
MTS will be operating a Sunday schedule. However, to accommodate the many thousands of people heading to the Big Bay Boom fireworks, the Trolley will be adding additional service on all three lines!
Remember, it's a major holiday so the FRIENDS RIDE FREE promotion is in effect. A friend may ride free with a fare-paying customer on all MTS routes on July 4, 2022. Youth also ride free with a Youth PRONTO card/account. Youth Opportunity Pass Program.

Alternatively, you can also pick-up and add money to a PRONTO card (one-time $2 fee) at any Trolley ticket machine (lines can get long the day of, so plan ahead!), or any participating retail network location.
Take the Sycuan Green Line to one of the following stations:
County Center/Little Italy
Santa Fe Depot
Seaport Village
Convention Center
Gaslamp Quarter
Plenty of FREE PARKING is available at various MTS Park & Ride lots.
MTS will be running a Sunday schedule on July 4th. Additional Sycuan Green Line service will operate toward downtown before the show begins.
From Santee: Sycuan Green Line trains depart toward downtown every 30 minutes throughout the day.
From SDSU Station: Sycuan Green Line trains depart from SDSU toward downtown every 15 minutes throughout the day.
After the event, additional service to SDSU and to Santee will operate with the last train to Santee departing 12th & Imperial at 10:36pm. Last train to SDSU is on regular service and departs 12th & Imperial at 11:36pm.
UC San Diego Blue Line
Take the UC San Diego Blue Line to one of the following stations:
County Center/Little Italy
Santa Fe Depot
America Plaza
Or transfer to the Sycuan Green Line to get to the other stations listed above.
MTS will be running a Sunday schedule on July 4th. UC San Diego Blue Line trains depart each station every 15 minutes throughout the day. After the event, UC San Diego Blue Line trains to San Ysidro will depart the America Plaza Station every 15 minutes with the last train to San Ysidro departing America Plaza at 11:55am (12:07am from 12th & Imperial).
After the event, there will be additional UC San Diego Blue Line trains to UTC departing from Santa Fe Depot station. Last train to UTC from 12th & Imperial at 11:08pm and 11:22pm from Santa Fe Depot.
Orange Line
Take the Orange Line to the 12th & Imperial Transit Center, transfer to the Sycuan Green Line and ride to one of the Green Line stations listed above.
MTS will be running a Sunday schedule on July 4th. Orange Line trains depart each station every 15 minutes throughout the day. After the event, there will be one additional Orange Line train to El Cajon. The last train to Arnele Avenue/El Cajon departs from Courthouse at 10:15pm and from 12th & Imperial at 10:26pm.
