We can all work together to create a healthier climate in the San Diego region. Join MTS in making a pledge to help create cleaner air for our communities on Wednesday, October 7 for California Clean Air Day. Of course, choosing transit is one way to do that (personal vehicles currently make up 37% of the region's GHG emissions - the single largest source!), but there are lots of ways to make a difference:
- Shop local - when you shop local, you reduce the distance foods travel (and therefore cut back on air pollution from freight emissions)
- Switch out your cleaning products - some common household cleaning products contain ingredients that cause asthma or other respiratory problems, consider a natural all purpose cleaner instead
- Cut down on online shopping - more online orders = more packages = more air pollution from shipping; try consolidating online shopping to just one order a week
- Try transit - switching up your commute even just once a week can make a collective difference
- And more!
