A musical celebration of International Women's Day featuring vocal chamber music rarely heard in the United States, curated by Susan Narucki, award winning soprano and Distinguished Professor of Music at UC San Diego. Narucki is joined by distinguished artists Kirsten Ashley Wiest, soprano, Alex Greenbaum, cellist and Alexander Ishov, flute, in a hour-long program that features works by Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina, German-American composer Ursula Mamlok and a world premiere by one of Mamlok's students, Columbian composer Alba Potes, as well music by the great Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho. Join us for a remarkable fusion of poetry and music created by exceptional women.
