MTS adding extra Trolley service for NCAA March Madness games at SDSU
San Diego – MTS is adding extra Trolley service as SDSU plays host for the first- and second-round NCAA March Madness tournament on Friday, March 16 and Sunday, March 18. With traffic in the area expected to be a full court press, fans are encouraged to make a fast break and ride the Sycuan Green Line for direct service to the SDSU campus.
The Game Plan: Fans are encouraged to leave the buzzer beaters to the players and travel early. The Sycuan Green Line Trolley will run every 15-minutes leading up to and throughout games on Friday afternoon and evening. Following the final game Friday, MTS will add Trolley service from SDSU, in both directions, as needed. On Sunday, MTS will increase pre-game service to every 15 minutes starting at 1:49 p.m. from Santee, and at 1:36 p.m. from downtown San Diego. Extra trains will also be added after the final game Sunday, as needed. (Sycuan Green Line Trolley service will run every 30 minutes during the games.)
Double Bonus: Fans can not only save money by choosing transit, but can also save time by using the Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app. The app allows fans to avoid ticket lines at Trolley stations and download a $5 Day Pass right to their smartphone. Riders can download up to 10 passes per phone, making it a great option for families or friends travelling together.

Every weekday more than 300,000 passenger trips are taken on MTS bus and Trolley services in 10 cities and the county. In FY 2017, MTS served more than 88 million riders.
