Fans using Compass Cloud ticketing app can bypass Trolley line after the game!
San Diego – The San Diego State Aztecs are playing host to nationally-ranked Stanford on Saturday at San Diego Stadium and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is boosting Trolley service to accommodate the anticipated large crowds. MTS recommends that fans taking the Trolley use its mobile ticketing app called Compass Cloud, to speed up boarding and add convenience for riders.
Getting to the Game - The Trolley’s Green Line drops off fans at the doorstep to the stadium. Trains will depart most Green Line stations every 15 minutes throughout the day and MTS will increase the number of pre- and post-game trains. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and increased service begins at 5:15 p.m. between Gaslamp Quarter and the stadium. After the game, extra Green Line service will be operating in both directions as needed.
Skip the Crowd with the Cloud! – The Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app is a great option for fans to purchase Trolley tickets. The app allows fans to avoid ticket lines and purchase tickets at any time right from their smartphones. As a bonus, Compass Cloud users can bypass the Trolley line after the game through the Compass Cloud express lane on the west side of the Trolley station ramp. Multiple Compass Cloud mobile tickets can be purchased on one smartphone too, making it easy for families traveling to the game together. For more information, visit the Compass Cloud webpage.
Finding the best place to park and ride the Trolley is also important! Prime park and ride locations for the game are:
- Hazard Center Station: 1,500 free parking spots (Green Line, Lower Level only; 6 minutes to stadium)
- Grossmont Transit Center: 404 free parking spots (Green/Orange Lines, 17 minutes to stadium)
- Old Town Transit Center: 412 free parking spots (Green Line, 14 minutes to stadium)
- Amaya Drive Station: 236 free parking spots (Green/Orange Line 19 minutes to stadium)
MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked railway. Every weekday more than 300,000 passenger trips are taken on MTS bus and Trolley services in 10 cities and the county. In FY 2017, MTS served more than 88 million riders.
