Make MTS Your ‘Ticket to Ride’ to Saturday’s Paul McCartney Concert at Petco Park

Day Passes are just $5 and can be downloaded to smartphones with the Compass Cloud app

San Diego – For the second time since 2014, former Beatle and rock ’n’ roll legend Paul McCartney returns to San Diego’s Petco Park this Saturday to perform before a sold out crowd of 42,000 fans. To accommodate the large crowds descending on Downtown, MTS is boosting Trolley service before and after the concert, making it easier for concert goers to say “baby, I don’t have to drive my car” with a “Ticket to Ride” from MTS.

The Petco Park gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert kicks off at 8 p.m. Trains will depart all stations every 15 minutes throughout the day on all three Trolley lines. Beginning at 5:52 p.m., Sycuan Green Line trains will increase frequency to every 7.5 minutes between SDCCU Stadium and Petco Park. Increased frequency will continue after the concert until crowds diminish. Final trains will leave the downtown area 45 minutes after the concert ends on all three lines of the Trolley.

Just Park and Ride - MTS also has a number of free park and ride locations throughout San Diego:

SDCCU Stadium: 5,000 free parking spots (Sycuan Green Line, 30 minutes to Petco Park)
Old Town Transit Center: 412 free parking spots (Sycuan Green Line, 15 minutes to Petco Park)
Palm Avenue Station: 499 free parking spots (UC San Diego Blue Line, 23 minutes to Petco Park)
