SAN DIEGO – The reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in the shooting of a Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Trolley Security Officer on Saturday, June 18 has been raised to up to $10,000. La Mesa Police say the suspect is an adult, black, male, in his twenties, about 5’11” with a thin build and wearing dark clothes and black gloves. At the time of the incident, the suspect had a blue duffle bag strapped across his chest.
The incident began at approximately 10:15 p.m. at the Grossmont Center Trolley Station when an unidentified male suspect shot the San Diego Trolley Security Officer twice. After the shooting, the suspect fled towards Grossmont Center. The Trolley Security Officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment and released on Sunday. MTS has enhanced Trolley
Security onboard vehicles and at stations following this incident.
Anyone who calls Crime Stoppers and provides a tip that leads to an arrest in this case may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. If the tip also leads to a conviction, there would be an additional reward of up to $9,000.
