Large crowds expected downtown for Monster Bash 2015
San Diego – A Halloween on Saturday night is sure to bring some extra ghouls and goblins to downtown San Diego and Monster Bash 2015. In response, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is adding late-night Trolley service departing from downtown San Diego, and advising party-goers to take the Trolley to avoid driving and parking hassles.
MTS will increase the number of late night trains running on the Blue, Orange and Green Lines that provide direct service to downtown San Diego. All lines will operate every 15 minutes during the day until about 9 p.m. on the UC San Diego Blue Line (from San Ysidro), 8:18 p.m. on the Orange Line (from El Cajon), and 9:15 p.m. (from SDSU) on the Green Line, then every 30 minutes during the remainder of the evening.
The special late-night trains leaving downtown San Diego are as follows:
- Orange Line to La Mesa and El Cajon (from Fifth Ave. Station): 12:27 a.m.
- UC San Diego Blue Line to San Ysidro (from Fifth Ave. Station): 12:25 a.m.
- Green Line to Santee/SDSU (from Gaslamp Quarter Station): 12:08 a.m., and 12:38 a.m.
Please note the termination point for special late-night trains on the Green Line is SDSU. There is no late service to Alvarado Medical Center, 70th Street, Arnele Ave., Gillespie Field, or Santee stations after the event. The last Green Line train serving these stations departs from the Gaslamp Quarter Station at 10:08pm. Passengers taking the Green Line can opt to park and ride from Qualcomm Stadium, which has 5,000 free parking spaces.
