MTS to Boost Service for Both the Women’s March and Monster Jam Events

Passengers encouraged to use Compass Cloud ticketing app to avoid ticket lines

San Diego – The Metropolitan Transit System is increasing Trolley service to accommodate two large-scale events in downtown San Diego on Saturday. Both the 2018 San Diego Women’s March and the annual Monster Jam at Petco Park are expected to draw more than 50,000 people to downtown San Diego.

2018 San Diego Women’s March (10 a.m., County Waterfront Park):

  • MTS encourages passengers to travel early, as trains will be at capacity closer to the event time
  • The march will begin at the County’s Waterfront Park, which is one block away from the Sycuan Green Line’s County Center/Little Italy Station
  • To avoid station ticket lines and speed up boarding, MTS recommends passengers purchase their transit passes ahead of time using the Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app. Multiple Compass Cloud mobile tickets can be purchased on one smartphone, making it easy for families traveling together

The following Trolley schedule will apply for the San Diego Women’s March:

  • Sycuan Green Line: Beginning approximately at 8 a.m., Sycuan Green Line trains will run every 7.5 minutes from SDCCU Stadium to downtown San Diego and every 15 minutes from Santee to downtown.

  • UC San Diego Blue Line: Service will operate every 15 minutes from San Ysidro to downtown San Diego throughout the day.

Riders on the UC San Diego and Orange Trolley lines are encouraged to transfer to the Sycuan Green Line at 12th & Imperial, then exit at County Center/Little Italy station.

Monster Jam: (2:30 p.m. Pit Party; 7 p.m. show time):

Trains on all three lines will depart all stations every 15 minutes before and after the event.
The final trains departing downtown from the 12th & Imperial Transit Center are:
