MTS asks commuters to weigh in on new Rapid bus services and proposed route changes along I-15 corridor and mid-city routes.
San Diego, CA – The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will conduct outreach at San Diego State University (SDSU) Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1–4 p.m., to give riders an opportunity to weigh in on potential route changes for the new Rapid network of bus services that will be launched mid-2014.
The outreach event will be at the SDSU Transit Center, located next to the new student union building, where riders will have the opportunity to provide feedback, speak with MTS personnel, and view maps with proposed route changes.
The Rapid network of services will provide a faster commute for riders on routes in the mid-city area and along the I-15 corridor. The Rapid service in the mid-city area travels between SDSU and downtown via El Cajon Boulevard and Park Boulevard. It will feature fewer stops, dedicated transit shelters, signal prioritization and new buses.
Before any final decisions are made, MTS needs riders to contribute to the planning process and provide feedback about proposed route changes and how those changes affect their travel.
