MTS to Operate Saturday Service Schedule on Presidents Day

Riders should plan for reduced schedule on bus and Trolley services

San Diego – The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will operate a reduced holiday schedule on Presidents Day. On Monday, Feb. 16, most MTS bus and Trolley routes will follow a Saturday schedule, with regular weekday service resuming Tuesday, Feb. 17.

During the holiday, riders can experience a piece of San Diego transit history. The Vintage Trolley will run on the Silver Line throughout the day, featuring the very first red San Diego Trolley car—the iconic 1001 U2—circulating on the downtown loop.

On Monday, the Silver Line Vintage Trolley departs from the 12th & Imperial Transit Center every hour beginning at 9:07 a.m., with the final trip leaving at 5:07 p.m. Passengers may board at any downtown stop along the route. The full loop takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Service for Presidents Day, Feb. 16:

  • All Trolley lines and most bus routes will operate on a Saturday schedule.
  • No service will be provided on Rapid Express Routes 280 or 290 and Rural Routes 891, 892 or 894.
  • Rural Route 888 will not operate; instead, it will operate on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
  • MTS Access subscription passengers who still want service must call ahead of time to arrange their transportation.

Support Services Schedules, Feb. 16:

  • PRONTO Support Center – Closed on Presidents Day
  • Customer Service offices – Closed on Presidents Day
