Fans encouraged to make the Green Line their go-to play as San Diego FC continues its electrifying postseason run
San Diego – The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is increasing Trolley service for fans traveling to Snapdragon Stadium this Saturday, Nov. 29, as San Diego FC battles Vancouver Whitecaps FC for a spot in the MLS Cup. Following a remarkable inaugural campaign, San Diego’s hometown Major League Soccer (MLS) club will take the field for a high-stakes Western Conference Final matchup, kicking off at 6 p.m. MTS estimates 5,400 fans used the Trolley to get to the semifinal match Monday, and even bigger crowds are expected this weekend.
Fans are encouraged to travel early on the Trolley. To help fans get to the stadium smoothly, the MTS Green Line will deliver frequent, convenient and affordable service directly to the stadium’s doorstep. Supporters are encouraged to leave the parking crunch behind, bypass pre-game traffic and rely on the Trolley for a stress-free ride to the match. Trolleys depart all stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 3:40 and 5:20 p.m. from Downtown San Diego.

Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with additional trips added as needed until 8:50 p.m. or until crowds diminish.

In celebration of the club’s historic debut season, MTS partnered with San Diego FC to release limited-edition PRONTO cards. Fans can park at one of MTS’ free Park & Ride lots throughout the Trolley system. The most convenient locations are:

Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare
Contactless Payment: Fans now have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket machine and speed up boarding times.
PRONTO: Fans can download the PRONTO app in advance and load at least $5, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on Trolley platform validators to activate their pass prior to boarding.
Every person needs their own payment option; you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.
Kids ride free! Families going to the Western Conference Final match can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult.
