Bus and Trolley services to operate on a modified schedule
San Diego – The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is reminding riders to plan ahead for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, as bus and Trolley service will operate on a modified schedule. On Thursday, Nov. 27, MTS will run a holiday schedule systemwide. Additionally, the Trolley system will operate on a Sunday schedule on Friday, Nov. 28. Regular service will resume Saturday, Nov. 29.
This Saturday also brings a major first for San Diego; WWE Survivor Series: WarGames will take over Petco Park—the first stadium setting in the event’s nearly 40-year history. With WWE’s biggest Superstars set to battle in one of sports entertainment’s most intense match formats, MTS will boost Green Line Trolley service to help fans get to and from the event with ease. MTS will also have its popular Friends Ride Free holiday promotion on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27. Each fare-paying adult can bring one guest to ride for free on any MTS service. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27:
- All bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedule.
- All Trolley lines will operate with half-hour service/frequency.
- No service will be provided on Rapid Express Routes 280 or 290 and Rural Routes 888, 891 and 894.
- Rural Route 892 will not operate on Thanksgiving; instead, it will operate on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
- MTS Access subscription passengers who still want service must call ahead of time to arrange their transportation.
- Holiday travelers can benefit from direct connections to the airport through Route 992, adjacent to Santa Fe Depot, or the San Diego Airport Flyer from the Old Town Transit Center.
Friday, Nov. 28:
- All MTS urban and local bus routes will operate normal weekday schedules.
- All Trolley lines will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Support Services:
- The Transit Store – Closed on Thanksgiving Day.
- MTS Information and Trip Planning – Closed on Thanksgiving Day. On Wednesday, Nov. 26, this office has modified hours from 5:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- PRONTO Support Center – Closed on Thanksgiving Day. On Wednesday, Nov. 26, this office is open with modified hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Customer Service office – Closed on Thanksgiving Day.
- All Support Services will re-open for normal hours on Friday, Nov. 28.
