Transit retail shop will now be located at the busiest transit center in San Diego
San Diego – Beginning Monday, June 20, The Metropolitan Transit System Transit Store, will have a new location at the 12th & Imperial Transit Center in East Village after 21 years at Broadway & 1st in downtown San Diego.
“To many of our passengers and visitors, the Transit Store is the face of MTS. So this new location, at our busiest Transit Center, is perfect for our customers,” said Paul Jablonski, MTS Chief Executive Officer. “All three Trolley lines, multiple MTS bus routes, Greyhound and the MTS headquarters are all operating at 12th & Imperial, making the new location very convenient for customers.”
In addition to improved proximity, the Transit Store will have enhanced clerk stations to speed up service, customer information areas with digital displays, and a modern look and feel. The Transit Store offers passengers a wide variety of services including:
- Monthly passes for MTS buses, Trolleys, and the COASTER
- Senior/Disabled/Medicare and Youth Identification cards
- Timetables for all routes
- Brochures and tourist-related information
- Special transit collectibles
- Lost and Found
- Commemorative and bulk pass sales
The Transit Store is open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on weekends and most holidays.
MTS operates 95 bus routes and three Trolley lines on 53 miles of double-tracked railway. Every weekday more than 300,000 passenger trips are taken on MTS bus and Trolley services.
