San Diego – The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is reminding riders of important weekend service updates. Orange Line Trolley service will experience partial closures for rail improvements, while Green Line service will be ramped up to support fans attending the San Diego FC playoff match at Snapdragon Stadium.
Partial Orange Line Closure
From Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1 a.m. through Monday, Nov. 10, at 4 a.m., the Orange Line will be closed between the Courthouse and Euclid Avenue stations as part of the Orange Line Improvement Project. During this closure riders can use the UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley between America Plaza and 12th & Imperial stations. The Courthouse Station will be closed, with a regular bus service available along Broadway. Additionally, bus shuttle service will run between 12th & Imperial Transit Center and Euclid Avenue, stopping at all stations along this segment.
These upgrades are part of an ongoing construction project that will improve safety, efficiency and reliability along the Orange Line. Full closure details are available on the MTS Rail Ready and Track Maintenance pages.

San Diego FC returns home for Game 3 against the Portland Timbers on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. To accommodate the large number of fans expected in attendance, MTS will provide additional Green Line Trolley service before and after the match at Snapdragon Stadium.
Fans are encouraged to avoid traffic and parking hassles by taking the Trolley to Stadium Station and enjoying the playoff atmosphere. Complete service schedules are available on the MTS website.

Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare
Contactless Payment: Fans have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment (such as a smartphone or smartwatch) on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket machine and speed up boarding times.
PRONTO: Fans can download the PRONTO app in advance and load at least $5, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on Trolley platform validators to activate their pass prior to boarding and when arriving at the Stadium.
Every person needs their own payment option; you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.
Kids ride free! Families going to the San Diego FC playoff match can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult.
