Ride MTS to Cheer on Your Favorite Teams at Snapdragon Stadium This Weekend

SDSU Football and the Wave play back-to-back this weekend

San Diego –This weekend will be filled with exciting games as the SDSU Aztecs and the San Diego Wave are in action back-to-back days. On Saturday, SDSU hosts Utah State in their second-to-last home game of the season, and then Sunday, the Wave face OL Reign in the National Women’s Soccer League semifinal playoff. Big games usually mean big crowds and long traffic jams, which is why MTS is encouraging fans to ride the Trolley and enjoy a worry and traffic free experience.

Getting to SDSU Aztecs vs Utah State - Saturday, November 4 at 4 p.m.

Fans can access Snapdragon Stadium via the Stadium Station located directly on stadium grounds.

Pre-Game:

  • Green Line: In addition to normal 15-minute service, extra trips from SDSU to Stadium Station will be in operation from 12:25 p.m. to 4:10 p.m.
  •  The UC San Diego Blue Line and Orange Line will have regular Saturday service.

Post-Game:

  • Green Line: In addition to 15-minute regular service, two service enhancements will be in operation:
    • Additional trips from Stadium Station to SDSU, starting about halftime.
    • Three extra shuttles to provide eastbound or westbound service post-game, as needed.
  • UC San Diego Blue Line and Orange Line will have regular Saturday service.

Getting to San Diego Wave vs OL Reign - Sunday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m.

            Fans can access Snapdragon Stadium via the Stadium Station located directly on stadium grounds.

Pre-Game:

  • Green Line: In addition to normal Sunday service, three service enhancements will be in place.
  • Two additional eastbound trains, departing Gaslamp Quarter at 4:59 p.m. and 5:14 p.m.  
  • Extended trips to provide 15-minute service between El Cajon and Stadium Station at 4:44 p.m., 5:14 p.m. and 5:44 p.m.
  • Additional service as needed between Old Town and Stadium Station.
  • UC San Diego Blue & Orange Lines will have regular Sunday service.

Post-Game:

  • Green Line: In addition to regular Sunday service, five trains will be available at Stadium Station to provide enhanced service.
  • UC San Diego Blue Line and Orange Line will run regular Sunday service.

Important Game Day Tips:

In order to provide the best fan experience, attendees should follow these transit tips:

  • Park & Ride: Fans are encouraged to utilize MTS’ free transit station parking to park their cars and hop on the Trolley. Parking lots are available along all three Trolley lines. Transfers from the Orange and UC San Diego Blue Line Trolleys to the Green Line can be made downtown at 12th & Imperial Transit Center or Santa Fe Depot. 
  • Get Your Fare Early: To avoid long ticket lines pre-and post-game, fans should  download the PRONTO app or use a PRONTO card  and load $5 in advance of the game to cover a round-trip Adult fare ($3 for seniors with Senior PRONTO card). Fans must tap or scan their Trolley passes at a station validator before boarding; fares will be checked at the Stadium pre- and post-game.
  • Youth Ride Free: All youth 5 years old and under ride free all day any day. No pass required. Kids ages 6-18-year-old can ride MTS free with the Youth Opportunity Pass Program (must have a valid Youth PRONTO card or Youth app account).
