San Diego – The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) reminds soccer fans to leave the parking hassles behind and ride the Trolley to the final regular-season home matches for both San Diego FC and San Diego Wave FC this weekend at Snapdragon Stadium.

The excitement begins Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when San Diego FC takes on Seattle Sounders FC, followed by Sunday's 4 p.m. matchup between San Diego Wave FC and Boston Legacy FC. To help fans get to and from the matches, MTS will provide increased Green Line Trolley service before and after each game, offering a fast, convenient, and affordable ride directly to Snapdragon Stadium.

Ramped up Green Line Service

  • Pre-event Service (Both Days) – Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added from Downtown to Stadium Station ahead of each match.
  • Post-event Service (Both Days) – Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with extra trips added towards El Cajon and Downtown as needed until crowds diminish.

Parking Options

Fans can park at one of MTS' free Park & Ride lots throughout the Trolley system. The most convenient locations are:

  • Old Town Transit Center (Green Line and UC San Diego Blue Line North – 400+ free parking spots)
    • Overflow parking option available across the street at Caltrans District 11 – After 5 p.m. Weekdays & All Weekend Only (4050 Taylor St., San Diego, CA, 92110 – 300+ additional free parking spots)
  • Morena/Linda Vista (Green Line – 200 spaces, most parking available off Friars Road)

Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare

Contactless Payment: Fans have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($3, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket machine and speed up boarding times.

Kids ride free! Families going to the soccer matches can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult.

PRONTO: Fans can download the PRONTO app in advance and load at least $6, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on Trolley platform validators to activate their pass prior to boarding.

Every person needs their own payment option; you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.
