Green Line Trolley takes you directly to soccer matches at Snapdragon Stadium
San Diego – Tens of thousands of soccer fans are expected to pack Snapdragon Stadium for back-to-back matches this weekend, and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is ramping up Trolley service to match the excitement both on and off the pitch.
The action kicks off Saturday at 6 p.m. as San Diego FC takes on FC Dallas in a high-stakes clash. Then on Sunday at 5 p.m., the momentum continues as San Diego Wave FC faces Bay FC in what promises to be another thrilling showdown.
For both matches, MTS will increase Trolley service to and from Snapdragon Stadium to accommodate the large crowds. Fans can skip the stress of traffic and high parking costs by hopping on the Green Line Trolley, which offers the most direct route to Snapdragon Stadium.
Saturday (5/3) – Green Line:
- Pre-event Service – Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 3:45 and 6 p.m. from Downtown San Diego to Stadium Station.
- Post-event Service – Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with extra trips added as needed until crowds diminish.
Sunday (5/4) – Green Line:
- Pre-event Service – Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 3:45 and 5 p.m. from Downtown San Diego to Stadium Station.
- Post-event Service – Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with extra trips added as needed until crowds diminish.
All-Season Passes
Soccer fans can ride MTS to Snapdragon Stadium at a discounted price. MTS partnered with San Diego Wave FC and San Diego FC to offer a discounted All-Season Passes. Fans can ride the Trolley to all home matches for only $43 for San Diego Wave FC games and $56 for San Diego FC games. These passes offer a 33% discount off the regular cost to ride to and from Snapdragon Stadium on matchdays. Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare
Contactless Payment: Fans now have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket vending machine and speed up wait times.
Kids ride free! Families going to the soccer matches can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult. Youth ages 18 and under with a registered Youth PRONTO card or app account can ride free with the Youth Opportunity Pass.
PRONTO: Fans should download the PRONTO app in advance. Load at least $5 on your virtual card, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on validators to activate their pass or fare prior to boarding.
Every person needs their own payment option, you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.

Fans can park at one of MTS’ free Park & Ride lots throughout the Trolley system. The most convenient locations are:
- Old Town Transit Center (Blue and Green Line, 400+ free parking spots)
- Grossmont Transit Center (Green and Orange Line, 220 free parking spots)
- El Cajon Transit Center (Green and Orange Line, 400+ free parking spots)
- Amaya Drive (Green and Orange Line, 236 free parking spots)
