San Diego – San Diego FC is gearing up to kick off the 2026 Major League Soccer regular season, and the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is dusting off its cleats to take thousands of fans to the pitch all season long. After a successful inaugural year, San Diego FC returns to Snapdragon Stadium in a match against CF Montréal.

For the club's home opener against Montréal scheduled Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m., MTS will increase Green Line Trolley frequencies to accommodate the large crowds. With high parking costs and significant traffic around the stadium, fans are encouraged to travel by Trolley, which drops off fans just steps away from the action.

  • Green Line Service (Pre-event): Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 5:15 and 7 p.m. from Downtown San Diego
  • Green Line Service (Post-event): Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with additional trips added as needed until 10:20 p.m. or until crowds diminish.

To help fans get to Snapdragon Stadium more conveniently, MTS is once again offering San Diego FC All‑Season Transit Pass. Fans can ride to all 17 regular season home matches at a discounted price with this transit pass, which offers a 33% discount off the regular cost to ride to and from Snapdragon Stadium on matchdays. The pass is available for only $56 at Trolley station ticket-vending machines and the PRONTO app. Details can be found at sdmts.com/sdfc-all-season-pass.

Prior to the match, MTS will participate in the club's fan activation outside the stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to receive one of the limited-edition San Diego FC PRONTO cards, while supplies last. The custom PRONTO card features a sleek design that incorporates San Diego FC's crest and signature white-and-gray palette.

Easy Parking Options

Soccer fans can park at one of MTS' free Park & Ride lots throughout the Trolley system. The most convenient locations are:

  • Old Town Transit Center (Green Line and UC San Diego Blue Line North – 400+ free parking spots)
    • Overflow parking option available across the street at Caltrans District 11 – (4050 Taylor St., San Diego, CA, 92110 – 300+ additional free parking spots)
  • Morena/Linda Vista (Green Line – 200 spaces, most parking available off Friars Road)
  • Grossmont Transit Center (Green Line and Orange Line – 220 free parking spots)

Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare

Contactless Payment: Fans now have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket machine and speed up boarding times.

Kids ride free! Families going to the soccer match can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult.

PRONTO: Fans can download the PRONTO app in advance and load at least $5, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan their pass on Trolley platform validators prior to boarding.

Every person needs their own payment option; you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.
