Why not do the repairs during the day only?

Thousands of passengers depend on timely Trolley service during the day to get to jobs, health appointments, school and more. In order to help minimize the commuting impacts for passengers, major repair work is often done overnight when no Trolley service is running.

Project Impacts - Signficant Overnight Noise/No Trolley Service Weekend of Feb 16-17

The work will be primarily overnight from 1-5 a.m. There will be one (1) complete weekend track closure (February 16 - 17). During the weekend closure, MTS will still serve the Grossmont Trolley Station via a bus shuttle between the following stations:

  • Sycuan Green Line: 70th Street Station, Grossmont, Amaya and El Cajon
  • Orange Line: La Mesa Blvd. Station, Grossmont, Amaya and El Cajon

Passengers will be required to de-board the Trolley at these stations and use the bus shuttle to continue their trips on the weekend of Feb. 16-17. Passengers must have a valid Trolley fare to use the bus shuttle.

Bus stops will be located in the following locations:

70th Street – in bus area, adjacent to Trolley platform
La Mesa Blvd – on Allison Avenue, @ existing MTS bus stop for Routes 1, 7)
Grossmont – on Grossmont Center Drive @ existing MTS bus stops for Route 852)

  • Eastbound (toward El Cajon) – on Grossmont Medical Center side
  • Westbound (toward La Mesa Blvd/70th Street) – on Grossmont Center side, adjacent to BJ’s*

Amaya Drive – on Amaya Drive

  • Eastbound (toward El Cajon) – adjacent to station
  • Westbound (toward Grossmont/La Mesa Blvd/70th Street) – across Amaya Drive from station*

El Cajon – Below Trolley platform, in taxi area*

*At these stops, passengers should pay attention to the headsign on the bus to ensure they are boarding the correct route.
